King of Kings (1961)

Rated PG-13

Jesus’ story through the New Testament. Starring Jeffrey Hunter, Siobhan McKenna, Hurd Hatfield, Rip Torn, Orson Welles

This film is an epic. Nicholas Ray, the director, gave characters more development than the Bible gives them. For this reason, it is not a true story of Christ but a Hollywood version of it. A three-hour Hollywood version of it. With that said the only redeemable aspect to the film is the cinematography and color of the film. It’s beautifully filmed.
