This film is an epic. Nicholas Ray, the director, gave characters more development than the Bible gives them. For this reason, it is not a true story of Christ but a Hollywood version of it. A three-hour Hollywood version of it. With that said the only redeemable aspect to the film is the cinematography and color of the film. It’s beautifully filmed.
