The Postman (1997)

Rated R

In Post-apocalypse United States, a drifter finds an old mail truck and to get a room, food and fight off rogue groups, he becomes The Postman. Starring Kevin Costner, Will Patton, Larenz Tate, Tom Petty, Giovanni Ribisi, Charles Esten

Based on two Novella’s, The Postman (1982) and Cyclops (1984), by David Brin. This film is better than most critics claim it to be. I felt the loss that the survivors felt and the bleakness that they had. I also felt the hope the survivors got from the Postman. Yes, it was an epic story that went on forever but once you get to the core you’ll be glad for the journey.
