On Our Merry Way (1948)

Rated NR

A newly married Classified ads clerk moonlights as a newspaper reporter for money. When he goes on the street to ask a simple question, “Has a little child ever changed your life?” He gets a different answer every time he asks. Starring Paulette Goddard, James Stewart, Henry Fonda, Dorothy Lamour

This is a great concept. To ask a simple question and get different answers could make it a great deep film but it falls so short it hurts. I felt that with each story, instead of learning something new, it was a long and agonizing story. With too many stars and not very good stories, the film was heartrending to watch.
