Game Change (2012) Rated TV-MA

Game changeGame Change is based on the book by the same name written by Mark Halperin and John Heilemann. It follows the 2008 presidential nominee John McCain as he selects Sarah Palin as his running mate and her performance. Starring Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson, Ed Harris, Sarah Paulson, Ron Livingston

I’ll say right off the bat that this is liberal take on the events happening during the election. I know shocking right. I do think there was some truth to the portrayal of Palin and McCain. I think the Republican party did suffocate Palin and McCain was a pacifist. It’s obvious that the party didn’t run a good campaign. If the filmmakers intent was to highlight politics in this era, I don’t think they achieved that. It was definitely an adversarial look at the right. I do think Julianne Moore upped her game with the portrayal of Palin. I was quite surprised that she pulled it off. To the question is this film worth watching? No. Not even for Julianne Moore. It’s too one side and how do the writers know what actually happened behind closed doors. They do not and so much of what was written is hearsay. So, this is a not worth a watch.
