Stoker (2013) Rated R

stokerAfter India’s father dies, an uncle whom she doesn’t know comes to live with her and her unstable mother. Starring Mia Wasikowska, Nicole Kidman, David Alford, Matthew Goode

This is a slow psychological thriller. The thing about this film is the slow telling of the story, you can figure out how it’ll end before the ending comes. I kept hoping for a twist which never came. I will say that Mia Wasikowska’s performance was perfect. She had the flawless mixture of curiosity, knowledge and calm for a thriller. Add Chan Wook Park’s visually stunning shots makes the movie an interesting watch. It’s not an ideal thriller but it kept me engaged.
