This is a coming of age film which resembles Stand By Me. I kept hoping for the voice over of an older Ellis retelling the story. The film slowly unfolds the story and then climaxes with a gun fight. The film does come off as a book to movie but it isn’t. Overall, the story is well and the characters intriguing. Is it a great film? No. I thought the story was so slow that I wanted it to end or move on which in turn makes the climax at the end seemed over the top.
