The Song to Bernadette (1943) Rated G

Song of BernadetteIn 1858 France, a teenage girl, Bernadette has a vision of a woman in the City dump. Based on the book by Franz Werfel. Starring Jennifer Jones, Charles Bickford, Vincent Price

Franz Werfel’s book based on Bernadette’s life is fictional with some elements of truth. Bernadette never said that her vision was the Virgin Mary, it was the people around her that claimed that. I struggled with this film. I’m not sure if she what she saw or not. Jennifer Jones portrayal of Bernadette was amazing. Her performance makes this film a good film. I wouldn’t call this film a great film but it holds its own.
