Pacific Rim (2013) Rated PG-13

Pacific RimIn the not too distant future there is a war between humankind and monster sea creatures. To help fight the creatures the humans produce a machine that is run by two human’s whose minds are joined together to work together. Starring Charlie Hunnam, Diego Klattenhoff, Idris Elba, Charlie Day, Robert Kazinsky, Ron Perlman

This film is a great throwback to the Japanese monster films. It’s very entertaining. Pacific Rim is entertaining but it is also a regurgitated monster film. It’s a visionary story. With the visual story being so big, I did think the human story got a little lost in the action. The action didn’t really let the story shine but it didn’t really cover it either. I enjoyed Rinko Kikuchi’s character Mako, who wasn’t there just to look good but also had a job to do. She definitely wasn’t there to be a sexual distraction. Pacific Rim is an action film worth seeing.
