The Darkest Hour (2011) Rated PG-13

Darkest hour

Five survivors from an alien attack in Moscow try to fight back against them. Starring Emile Hirsch, Olivia Thirlby, Max Minghella, Rachael Taylor, Joel Kinnaman

As in all thriller’s the concept that survivors all make poor decisions is very evident in this movie. When one character dies another one takes its idiotic place. That’s poor writing. And there is only one that seems to have their head on their shoulders. Again very much thriller written. I still don’ t think this was a bad film, it kept me entertained even though I kept yelling at the characters to think and not be stupid. Truly though, would they have a movie if they didn’t have idiots running the show. Again, I think that comes from writing you can write smart characters that still have to fight the aliens. I say I’m 50/50 on this film. Not sure if I liked it enough to recommend it or disliked it enough to tell you to say away.
