Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981) Rated R

road warriorMad Max is back to help a gasoline rich community fight off a group of bandits. Starring Mel Gibson, Bruce Spence, Michael Preston

This movie takes a bare minimal plot and uses it to its highest possibility. It’s a high-octane action film with some of the best car chases in films.  Watching it years after the release lets you see why this film is a cult classic and loved by so many. It’s a gem of a piece of cinematic filmmaking. It doesn’t look like much but it is almost flawless in its storytelling. It’s simple and it shows the movie doesn’t try to be what it isn’t and it doesn’t do more than it needs. It’s worth a watch.
