Little Man Tate (1991) Rated PG

little man tate

Dede is a single mother to a gifted son. She tries to give him a normal life, but a child psychologist wants to give him a summer with a group of gifted children. Starring Jodie Foster, Dianne Wiest, Adam Hann-Byrd, Harry Connick Jr., David Hyde Pierce, Debi Mazar.

This is a story of boy whose intelligence is high enough that it’s a struggle for him to adapt to everyday life. Dede, the mother, wants him to have a normal life but also tries hard to allow him to use his intelligence. As they both learn and grow, the child psychologist gives them both a chance to live normally. It’s a great story; Jodie Foster did an amazing job at her first time directing, and the little boy, Adam Hann-Byrd, will warm your heart. This is a film worth seeing.
