Sleepless in Seattle (1993) Rated PG

sleepless-in-seattleA widower’s son calls into a radio station to find a wife for his dad. Starring Tom Hanks, Ross Malinger, Rita Wilson, Victor Garber, Meg Ryan, Bill Pullman, David Hyde Pierce, Frances Conroy, Rosie O’Donnell, Rob Reiner.

It may surprise you that I have never watched this movie in its entirety until a couple of days ago.  It was a wonderful romantic comedy, although quite unrealistic.  How can you fall in love with a voice?  Also, Ryan is a bit of a stalker in her quest for more information about him.  Would Hanks really have been as interested if he knew what she had been up to?  And, how could he fall in love with her when he knew nothing about her?

Still, Hanks is his lovable self, and Ryan is quirky as always.  Even without being onscreen together very much, they managed to have great chemistry.  It may not have been believable, but it was charming and romantic.  It is still worth a watch.
