Aftermath (SYFY) Rated TV-14

aftermathThe Copeland family survives the apocalyptic end. Now they must survive massive storms, meteor strikes, earthquakes, a plague, and supernatural creatures. Starring James Tupper, Anne Heche, Levi Meaden, Taylor Hickson, Julia Sarah Stone.

This show is by far the most stupidest show I have watched this fall. I’ve never seen a TV family try so hard to appear smart and savvy, only to come off as completely ignorant and annoying.  Heche’s character drove me crazy. She will make the most inane statements at completely inappropriate times.  For example, in one scene where they are driving around, her husband is explaining something in a straightforward manner, and she replies, “I’m going to absorb that when I have time.” What? They are driving around a post-apocalyptic world, with nothing but time on their hands, and she doesn’t have time to process what he is saying?  Or, while they investigating an area, she says, “Gunfire. Really. I don’t have time for this.” I know she is trying to sound bad-ass, but again, she has all the time in the world; there is nothing else for her to do.  With a lead character like this, the show has no chance for survival. It is not worth a watch.
