The Accountant (2016) Rated R

the-accountantA math genius unlocks the books of his current client, and when the feds start closing in on him, the body counts start rising. Starring Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey Tambor, John Lithgow, Jean Smart.

This film has an interesting plot, but it wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. For one, it is implied that the accountant is an extremely autistic person, making him unable to interact well with others or exhibit emotion. Now, Affleck is a good actor, but he does not shine in this film. There were times he was talking to Kendrick’s character when it was obvious he was holding back a smile or two. Despite the flawed acting, there is an interesting twist at the end that I did not see coming.  Even so, this film is a pass.
