Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome (2012) Rated NR

Follows young William Adama in the First Cylon War. Starring Luke Pasqualino, Ben Cotton, Lili Bordán.

Having recently enjoyed the new version of Battlestar Galactica, I was intrigued by this made for TV movie. However, it was a disappointment; it doesn’t do the series justice. There was nothing compelling about William Adama the younger or his exploits. This film lacks substance, the special effects are almost amateur in their effort, and the acting was stilted. It reminded me of the original Star Trek show, without the allure of their absurd stories.  I really wish I could have enjoyed the film, but it was too poorly done to suffice as an adequate prequel to the series.  It is a pass.
