After All These Years (2013) Rated NR

A woman is wrongfully accused of murdering her ex-husband. She sets out to find the real killer before she is arrested on the day of his funeral. Starring Wendie Malick, Andrea Martin, Martha Burns.

This Hallmark movie has a perfect blend of humor and mystery. They keep the suspense by not revealing too many hints about whodunit. However, the humor didn’t always fit with the inherently heavy theme. This wife just lost her husband, and in the process found out that he was planning to divorce her. It is not realistic to think she would find much to laugh at in life. The film fails to touch on the logical emotions of grief and devastation. Although it has some good qualities, this lack of emotional insight makes it a pass.
