Lincoln (2012) Rated PG-13

As the civil war rages on, Lincoln struggles with battles in his own cabinet. Based on the book, Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln by Doris Kearns Goodwin. Starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, David Strathairn, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, James Spader, Hal Holbrook, Tommy Lee Jones, John Hawkes.

This film is brilliant, from the acting to the production design to the score. It does an excellent job of showing a different side to Abraham Lincoln that many films and history classes don’t reveal. Is it historically accurate?  Who’s to say what was spoken behind closed doors? It spans the last four months of his life, as he tried to get the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution passed. This film is worth the watch.
