Mother Teresa (2003) Rated NR

Based on the life of Mother Teresa, a simple nun whose calling and faith lead her to the poor, the lepers, the dying, and the abandoned children in the slums of Calcutta. Starring Olivia Hussey, Sebastiano Somma, Ingrid Rubio.

I didn’t come to this film with high expectations, but this truthful retelling of Mother Teresa’s life was really well done. It begins wither her decision to enter the convent and continues through her time in India and her fight with the church to validate her calling. What really makes this film work is Hussey; she played Mother Teresa perfectly, bringing a different side of her to light that many felt but could not see. She had the strength to fight for what she knew the Lord to be leading her to. This film is a wonderful testament to her faith and obedience to do what the Lord asked of her. This film is worth the watch.
