This film hits all the right notes for a holiday TV movie. There is the widower dad who is still struggling with the loss of his wife and a failing business. His son misses his mom but still wants to keep the magic of the season going. Then, in walks the ex-girlfriend who plans to fire the core people at the company to cut costs, only to discover there is more to the company than she expected. Along the way, these two get to experience a little Christmas magic.
The film has a believable premise and capable actors. Thicke plays the ex-girlfriend’s father, mostly through phone conversations, but it was nice to catch a glimpse of him onscreen again. Ashmore plays his part as the charming, small town dad and widower perfectly. This film is just right for the season and worth a watch.
