The Big Wedding (2013) Rated R

A long-divorced couple fakes being together for a family wedding. Starring Robert De Niro, Katherine Heigl, and Diane Keaton.

This film’s jokes revolve around sex. I know that I sound arduous, but I’ll say this again: sex jokes are a cheap way to get entertainment. There are other ways to get people to laugh, smarter ways. This film is littered with sexual humor. Adding that the distasteful humor revolves around an already dysfunctional family at a wedding, the family looks more repulsive than dysfunctional. Who would want to marry into that family?! The film jumps from sexual jokes to family drama and back to sexual jokes in a heartbeat. The audience isn’t sure if it’s supposed to feel humor or heart. It all makes this film not worth a watch.
