Egypt (2005) Rated NR

A dramatization of the discoveries of ancient Egypt from exploring the tombs to the discovery of the Rosetta Stone. Starring  Andrew Sachs, Stuart Graham, and Julian Wadham.

This miniseries dramatizes the discoveries of ancient Egypt, from Howard Carter, who discovered Tutankhamun’s intact tomb, to Giovanni Belzoni, who preserved a number of Egyptian antiquities, and Jean-François Champollion, who deciphered the Egyptian hieroglyphs. The miniseries depicts the men and women who unearthed the hidden histories of ancient Egypt. These stories offer just a glimpse at the lives of these Egyptologists and how they came to learn about Egypt’s history, but they reveal the struggles that each had to face while learning more about the ancient world. The miniseries also brings to life the world of ancient Egypt and those who lived there as they tell the story of why they lived the way they did. This miniseries is worth a watch.
