Winchester (2018) Rated PG-13

Sarah Winchester, the widow of the late Winchester dynasty, builds her mansion for the souls that have been harmed by the rifle her family made. Starring Helen Mirren, Sarah Snook, and Finn Scicluna-O’Prey.

This film is based on the true story of Sarah Winchester’s mansion with an added twist of horror. It’s fascinating to learn the reason she built the eccentric mansion, and I enjoyed seeing this other side of Helen Mirren as she became Sarah Winchester. The film was more of a historical story than a horror movie. There were some scary moments, but for the most part, it was just a telling of how the Winchester Mansion came to be, although not entirely truthful. The film is an interesting watch, but it might be confusing if you don’t know the story of Sarah Winchester. The film doesn’t seem to convey the real intention of the mansion. Even though this film is interesting, it still isn’t worth a watch.
