What I Did for Love (2006) Rated TV-G

A city lawyer goes to his fiancee’s country home for the holidays. Starring Jeremy London, Dorie Barton, and James Gammon.

This movie is different from Hallmark’s typical Christmas films. Here, we don’t watch the two characters fall in love; they’ve already done that. Instead, it’s time to meet the family, and this is where the conflict begins. James (Jeremy London), L.A. attorney and city guy through and through, meets Karl, his lawyer-hating future father-in-law. James tries so hard to fit in with the family, but he struggles. The film lacks realism; nothing about it seemed real. The conflict appears to focus on Karl trying to break up the couple. For the most part, it left a bad taste in my mouth. I wish this film had been done better, but it isn’t worth a watch.
