God’s Not Dead: A Light in Darkness (2018) Rated PG

Pastor Dave responds to unimaginable tragedy when his church, which is located on the grounds of the local university, is burned down. Starring Megan Alexander, Adeeja Rochele Anderson, Carrlyn Bathe,  David A. R. White, John Corbett, Shane Harper, Benjamin Onyango, and Ted McGinley.

In the third installment of the God’s Not Dead series, the film showcases the church vs. school. It feels a little too much like that last film in which the teacher in the public school system answers a question about God. Again, the church building is under attack because it’s on public school grounds. This time though, the script isn’t as tight and there isn’t a clear conclusion to the different stories. Overall, the film just seems to be an extension of the last movie except the focus is on Pastor Dave and his tragedy.  This one doesn’t have as good of a story as the last two films and is not worth the watch.
