Jonestown: Terror in the Jungle (2018) Rated TV-14

A docuseries that looks at the Jonestown Massacre 40 years later. Starring Jason John Cicalese, Matt Zako, and Jack Schrader.

This is an amazing documentary on the history of the people’s temple and the culmination of the murders that happened in Jonestown. The show takes historical videos and interviews of the survivors, as well as historians to tell us Jim Jones’ past. The show starts with Jones’ early life and what made him want to become a pastor and later how his obsession killed hundreds of people. What still gets me are the survivors, the guilt they seem to live with, and the struggles they probably have with any religion now. The lives Jones destroyed just pulls at my heartstrings. This is a miniseries worth a watch.
