The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) Rated TV-PG

Peter Parker has been bitten by an altered spider, and he discovers that he has spider-like powers that help him discover the mysteries behind his parents’ death. Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Rhys Ifans.

The film is a reboot from the trilogy with Tobey Maguire. Here we have Andrew Garfield playing the title role. Garfield is an interesting actor to portray Peter Parker. Having enjoyed the last trilogy with Maguire, I was interested to see how Garfield would do, and he did become Parker; the only problem is it’s hard to see him as a bullied teen. That didn’t seem possible. The chemistry between Garfield and Stone, as the love interest, is amazing. The story takes us back to the beginning of Parker’s transformation and gives background information on his parents’ deaths. The film’s script is more character driven than action driven. It’s worth a watch.
