Tre Maison Dasan (2018) Rated NR

A documentary follows three children whose parents are serving prison sentences. Starring Tre Janson, Dasan Lopes, and Maison Teixeira.

The film focuses on three boys as they struggle with absent parents. It gives us a look at the boys’ lives as they live with the knowledge that their parents are away. We see their neighborhoods and the struggles that each boy has. The film captures how the boys feel lost as they live in households that are missing components. The film never tells us the reason behind each incarceration; the focus is mostly on the children and what they are experiencing. The documentary doesn’t have much of a clear outline of the story, but it’s a compelling story that pulls on your heart-strings. It’s worth a watch.
