The Spanish princess, Catherine of Aragon, navigates the royal family of England hoping to become the Queen of England. Based on the novels The Constant Princess and The King’s Curse by Philippa Gregory. Starring Charlotte Hope, Aaron Cobham, and Elliot Cowan.
I love that this film features the story of Henry the VIII’s first wife. This is a fictional account of Catherine’s life, and the actors do a fine job at bringing these characters to life. Hope, who portrays Catherine, is excellent. Gregory is known for her books of the royal family, and although more fictional than factual, her stories bring the royal family not just to life but also to a humanized level. It’s very much a soap opera of their lives. Although, it’s a wonder to see Catherine’s life as her own and not a blimp on her husband’s. This film is worth a watch.
