Booksmart (2019) Rated R

Two academic-minded friends realize they should have partied more through high school. Starring Kaitlyn Dever, Beanie Feldstein, and Jessica Williams.

This film tries to be a story about acceptance and high school angst, but it’s really about doing whatever you want and still getting the best of everything. To top it off, the film revolves around sex, it isn’t all that funny, and the jokes don’t make sense. Overall, it’s not well written, and I was disgusted when thinking that this is what high schoolers are going through. The film is just chaotic and has no point to the story. It prides itself on being true to teenagers when, in fact, it is a farce of teenage life. This film is not worth a watch.
