The Judge (2014) Rated TV-14

A big city lawyer returns to his childhood home where his father is a judge on trial for murder. Starring Robert Downey Jr., Robert Duvall, and Vera Farmiga.

I love these types of stories, the classic drama of a long lost member of the family returning home and the family rebuilding their relationships. This tale is one that has been told before, but it has brilliant performances by Downey, Duvall, and Farmiga. The story has a lot going on with multiple subplots, and it tries too hard to hit an emotional height in each scene. There isn’t too much of comedy. The film is about a father and son trying to mend fences while both being stubborn. This one is worth a watch.
