A fictional author creates a film adaptation of his epic tale in which a pianist-turned-detective investigates a murder in the 1950s underground jazz scene. Starring Michael Kenneth Williams, Kristen Wiig, and Bérénice Marlohe.
I get that this show is supposed to make fun of filmmaking and storytelling. The actors are over-the-top. The direction is supposed to be stilted, but it makes it hard to watch and follow. Thus, the miniseries isn’t funny. I did not find any of the overacting, direction, or camera angles as humorous. I actually thought this one was worse than the prequel, The Spoils of Babylon, and Babylon wasn’t the best either, but at least I could follow the story. This show is not worth the watch.
