Out of the Dark (2014) Rated R

A couple and their daughter move to Columbia for work only to discover their new home is haunted. Starring Julia Stiles, Scott Speedman, and Stephen Rea.

This is an intriguing story that has the spiritual past of Columbia mixed with the real-life horror that took place in the home. I thought Scott Speedman really showed his acting chops in this role. I’ve never thought much of him in other roles, but he outdid himself in this one. Julia Stiles is wonderful as usual, and I thought the chemistry between the two actors was fine. The horror aspect is traditional, with the intense atmosphere pushing the story along. It’s interesting but still not worth a watch.
