Mortdecai (2015) Rated R

Charlie Mortdecai races to recover a stolen painting that would lead him to lost gold, and all the while, law enforcement is on his tail. Based on the books, Mortdecai Trilogy, by Kyril Bonfiglioli. Starring Johnny Depp, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Paul Bettany.

This is one of those action comedies that Johnny Depp does so well in. Although, I felt that this film wasn’t as funny as it could have been. It’s a film that you need to take at face value. There’s nothing of depth here, and it’s not laugh-out-loud funny. The cinematography, however, is beautiful, and the chemistry between all the characters is gold. The film is mostly Depp playing the bumbling idiotic art dealer, which we’ve all seen before. I wish it brought something different to the table, but alas, this is not worth a watch.
