A Diva’s Christmas Carol (2000) Rated PG

In this take on Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, a pop singer gets a reality check by the three spirits of Christmas. Starring Vanessa Williams, Rozonda ‘Chilli’ Thomas, and John Taylor.

This is a VH1 made-for-TV movie, so they acquired all the singers to play the different parts. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t Oscar-worthy performances either. The special effects were good, and although the film has it’s positive aspects, it’s still not the best. It seems to be thrown together and not thought through. The characters always seem to be unaware of the reality they’re living in. This is a fantasy story, but the characters should not be oblivious to reality. There is no emotion in the story. We could care less about these characters or whether they should be redeemed. This film is not worth a watch.
