Stand by Me (1986) Rated R

After a death of a friend, a group of friends heads off into the woods to find the body. Based on Stephen King’s short story, The Body. Starring Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman, and Jerry O’Connell.

This film is a classic. It’s also the best Stephen King film I have ever watched. It’s not really a horror story; it’s more about the friendship between the boys than the body. This film is one that has the best in everything; a great script and great acting by all four of the boys as they each have their own problems but are there for each other. The film’s only problem is how unrealistic it is. If the boy’s death has already been discovered, then wouldn’t the body already be taken care of, not out in the middle of nowhere? Otherwise, this film is one that can’t be missed; it’s worth it.
