Isobel hasn’t ever had a storybook Christmas, so this year she plans the dream Christmas that she’s always wished for with her boyfriend. When her boyfriend had a busy workload, she goes ahead with her plans and meets another man. Starring Alicia Witt, Gabriel Hogan, and Peter Benson.
Isobel makes her Christmas wish list and this year she tries to check off every one of the items. Witt (Isobel) is charming in this Hallmark Christmas movie. She’s charming and fun to watch, but the chemistry between her and Hogan, the charming local man that Isobel is falling, for is lackluster. The positive is that the new man does know about the boyfriend, so there’s that conflict to resolve, which is the most realistic thing in the film. While watching, I did question that he is falling in love with a woman who is doing something that she typically doesn’t do, and her mother even points this out. This isn’t their typical holiday. I think this could cause problems in the future for this new romance. This film is not worth a watch.
