Gods of Egypt (2016) Rated PG-13

Mortal hero Bek teams with the god Horus against Set, the god of darkness who is after the throne of Egypt. Starring Brenton Thwaites, John Samaha, and Courtney Eaton.

I can’t figure this film out. It’s based on the ancient Egypt deities; although, I’m not sure that they were deities. The film is like an Indiana Jones film, but instead of archaeologists they are deities. Then you have the poor CGI with the different effects. It’s a campy film, but it does have a story – but does the story really matter? The script is bad. These deities don’t even talk like gods; they talk like modern humans. It also has a lot of plot holes. The actors weren’t bad – they just had a bad script. It just doesn’t make sense for the time period. It’s a mix-mash with no consistency. This film is not worth a watch.
