The Brothers Grimsby (2016) Rated R

An assignment forces a top spy to team up with his football brother. Starring Sacha Baron Cohen, Rebel Wilson, and Freddie Crowder.

This film is a mix-mash of different genres and doesn’t know what it wants to be. Cohen is crazy and obnoxious – especially toward his brother played by Mark Strong. Strong is the film’s straight man. He’s rather good, and I enjoyed his role. It’s Cohen’s performance that I struggle with. For the most part, I didn’t find much humor in the film. I loved Strong, but I’ve yet to really enjoy Cohen’s humor. It’s not my cup of tea. The humor is mostly potty humor, and it is rather disgusting too. It struggles with finding its footing as a spy comedy with potty humor. Ultimately, this film is not worth a watch.
