Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010) Rated PG-13

Scott Pilgrim must fight his girlfriend’s exes in order to win her heart. Based on the graphic novels by Bryan Lee O’Malley. Starring Michael Cera, Kieran Culkin, and Anna Kendrick.

This film runs like a video game. While the concept of the film is interesting, nothing about it holds appeal. The film revolves around characters that have low moral standards or were mis-casted. The film starts with Scott having a relationship with an underaged girl, but he meets the woman of his dreams (literally). Now, Scott isn’t one that breaks off a relationship before starting a new one. He’s not a strong man; he is weak. While the film totes the fact that it’s a romance for geeks, the romance falls to the backside. It’s a film that you shouldn’t take too seriously, but I can’t help but look at its failings. It’s one that is not worth a watch.
