I usually enjoy these reality shows of cooks trying to become the best they can be. Since Goldman and Pascale host this series, it looks like it would be good. However, it’s not the best. The show focuses more on the contestants than the baking. I’m fine with the bakers using volumetric measurements as the US uses this system as opposed to the metric weights. It’s easy for US home cooks to understand the recipes. The contestants are interesting, but for the most part, none of their personalities stand out enough to make them interesting to watch. Then you have the hosts; they know the business, but we don’t get to see tips they offer the contestants. I wish this was better, but alas, it’s not worth a watch.
