This series takes us into civilizations in Africa that made cultural acheivements thoughout our history. It doesn’t overlook the worst of Africa’s history but gives us the truth. While the series provides a good depth to the history, there is much more that it doesn’t divulge. There are times that Gates, who’s proud of the  continent, overly exerts its achievements. Of course, where does the last century fit in the wonder of Africa? The show has a hard time making it great. However, the series is worth the watch.
