A Canadian intelligence officer and a French Resistance fighter meet behind enemy lines in 1942, but their relationship is tested during the war. Starring Brad Pitt, Vincent Ebrahim, and Xavier de Guillebon.
This film is revolves around a war time romance. It has positives points as well as problems. One, the cinematography is beautiful, as are the costumes and color palette. The problem is mostly with the script. The film was expected to be an epic love story, but it falls so short. The script struggles with where it wants the story to focus, and the pacing is hard when it tries to give us more than the scene needs. Marion Cotillard gives a wonderful performance, while Pitt struggles to not be Brad Pitt. Plus, the film doesn’t pull the audience into the story, making it not worth the watch.
