Jack (1996) Rated PG-13

Due to a disorder, Jack ages four times faster than everyone else. He starts public school as a fifth grader that looks like he’s 40. Starring Robin Williams, Diane Lane, and Brian Kerwin.

This film has heart and it tries to do right. While Robin is his usual best self in the character of a boy who is in the body of a man, I did feel that this film bit off more than it could chew. The film tends to drag in length. It has the presense of Big, but this revolves around a disorder, so you have to be careful with the jokes. They do a fairly good job at that. It helps that he has a talent with his size in basketball. The film, overall, does a wonderful job at holding to the sentimental aspect of a boy living in a man’s body. It doesn’t, on the other hand, make the film a masterpiece, thus it is not worth the watch.
