Hardball (2001) Rated PG

A gambling addict agrees to coach a little league team in order to get a loan. Starring Keanu Reeves, Diane Lane, and John Hawkes.

This film isn’t one of the best. It has heart but lacks consistancy of the script. The film changes from a man who lives a tough life to one that is redeemable. That’s also what makes this film enjoyable to watch. It’s a great film for preteens or teens and presents the reality of yourh living in the inner city. It does a great job at weaving the realities of life with the redeemable characters. Everyone is doing the best that they can. Of course, it shows more adult behavior in the children, but it is truthful in the respect that these are inner city kids that grow up faster than their suburban counterparts. This film is worth the watch.
