A Merry Friggin’ Christmas (2014) Rated PG-13

A father and his family must spend Christmas with his estranged relatives and he realizes that he left his son’s gifts at home. Now, he must make an eight-hour trip before Christmas morning with his father in order to make Christmas for his son. Starring Joel McHale, Lauren Graham, and Clark Duke.

This is one of Robin Williams’ last films. While the film has it’s funny moments, it’s a very dark comedy. The actors seem to have phoned the performances in as they are lackluster at best. Then you have a script that just doesn’t have the perfect finishing touch. The film does have its moments that remind you of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. Although, I would state that the chemistry between characters is lacking. This film could’ve been a classic in its own right if the script had been better, allowing the actors to shine. It’s just not that interesting, making it not worth the watch.
