One Crazy Summer (1986) Rated PG

A teenage cartoonist and his friends try to help a struggling singer get her land back. Starring John Cusack, Linda Warren, and Joel Murray.

I was excited, thinking here’s a film I haven’t watched that has the top young actors of the 80s. However, I was disappointed with it. While the film has the typical 80s over-the-top antics, it doesn’t have the best story line, and it’s a mish-mash of genres that don’t mix well together. Cusack is great as the forlorn teenager, but the film just doesn’t have a good storyline and the gags don’t fit. Then you have Demi Moore, who is obviously not a singer – although she tried. Nothing in the film is funny and nothing is interesting; it’s a film that is not worth the watch.
