I loved Cary Grant in this film. He did a phenomenal job. I’ve seen both, The Preacher’s Wife and The Bishop’s Wife, and the problem I have with both films is this: the portrayal of the angel falling for the wife or vice versa. To me, this is unrealistic. Angels don’t fall in love-they don’t have human feelings. Angels do the job assigned to them. Although, Cary Grant’s character, I did feel that it was used as a way to get the husband to see what he would be missing. I don’t know. I just know I didn’t like it. If I had to choose one to watch it would be The Bishop’s Wife.
