Hôtel Terminus (1988)

Rated NR

The downside of this documentary was that it is long. By long, I mean really long, too long. I think it could have  accomplished what it set out to do even if it was cut in half. I also thought that if the Marcel Ophüls was able to interview Klaus Barbie before the trial might have interested. Even with my negatives of this film, it was still well done. It followed Barbie from his childhood through his SS interrogator days on to his life in Bolivia and the trial that followed in France. Ophüls interviewed people who were victims of his interrogation, as well as, former SS Officers. These are stories from WWII that need to be told.
