Apocalypse Now (1979)

Rated R

One of my biggest pet peeves about films are ones that portray themselves as being truthful in their representation and then don’t deliver. This film lacks the representation of the Vietnam War. With that inadequate portrayal the film does have an amazing artistic and dramatic photography. I get the surrealistic and symbolics of the film, which was to done to perfection but I do have an issue with the label that this is a Vietnam War film which to me it ain’t. The war was going on around the mission that Captain Willard’s trying to carry out. For the amazing storytelling, this is a stunning film.
