Blue Valentine (2010)

Rated R

Cindy and Dean were once in love with each other with a life full of possibility and love. Now they are bored, disenchanted and have a routine life in rural Pennsylvania.

Derek Cianfrance showed a brilliant contrast between the years with the couple. My only flaw to the film was Cindy. I struggled with her disenchantment with her marriage and wondered why she gave up.  Dean seemed to try to work with his marriage. I really disliked Cindy, do to the fact, that she never said to Dean this is what I want and this is what I need from you. If that was ever said it wasn’t in the movie and to me that is major fail. I would have like to see both couples fighting for their marriage. Other than that it was beautifully filmed with great chemistry between the characters.
